| No matter
what the season,
there are plenty of activities to keep a person busy
in Alaska.
In the summer, there's fishing,
hiking, camping, kayaking, wildlife viewing, and all
those other activities you see in the travel brochures.
But the less-glorified winter months are exciting too
- for different reasons.
The dog sled season kicks off
with our first accumulation of snow. Watching the mushers
and their teams interact with each other, is always
an exciting event. The dogs truly love to race, and
the minute the harnesses are put on, they jump up and
down with joy.
The winter months also bring
us amazing ice art, the sport of curling, skijoring,
cross-country skiing, various festivals, fireworks on
New Years Eve, and more.
